JAG RF supplies a host of duplexers from numerous manufacturers. Duplexers are one of the most important components of a good RF repeater system. They allow a transmitter and receiver to work at the same time. In other words, a repeater connected to a duplexer can transmit a signal and receive a signal through a single antenna simultaneously. Isolation is a very important specification of a duplexer, higher the isolation, the better. For this reason JAG RF stocks many round cavity type duplexers which inherently provide better isolation than most other duplexer designs. However, their physical size is sometimes a hindrance due to site space availability. |
|
When it comes to mobile applications, a duplexer’s physical size is it’s greatest enemy. That is why most manufactures of mobile duplexers make them no bigger than a typical mobile transceiver, allowing them to fit into space-constrained places such as a police cruiser’s trunk. However, mobile duplexers are not just limited to vehicular applications. They are ideally suited for SCADA enclosures and compact remotely located or pole mounted repeaters. Although mobile duplexers cannot compare in performance with larger round cavity type duplexers, they perform well for their size. JAG RF supplies mobile duplexers from Sinclair, Celwave, TXRX, and Telewave. However, we do sometimes come across other manufacturers. |

A compromise between a mobile duplexer and the much larger round cavity type duplexer is a square extrusion type duplexer, which integrates design concepts from both the mobile duplexer and round cavity type. Although these duplexer still do not perform as well as the larger round cavity types, they are show much better performance characteristics than the very small mobile duplexers. These duplexer’s are well suited for situations where limited rack space is available but performance such as isolation and power handling capability must be adequate. JAG RF stocks a range of different designs from Sinclair’s Res-lok to TXRX’s and EMR’s square duplexer designs. |

Yet another type of duplexer design is one that is a compromise between a square cavity type and a mobile duplexer. These duplexers are usually enclosed in a metal box with tiny cylindrical resonators inside. They tune much like a mobile duplexer but with better performance characteristics. These duplexers are ideal were economy is an issue but a duplexer comparable to a square cavity type is required. These do not perform as well but they are a good compromise when price is an issue. JAG RF stocks this type of duplexer manufactured by Sinclair and Decibel Products. |
